about jax
I’m Jax of Jax Orange County. I am a licensed cosmetologist, lash artist, and educator.
When I entered the beauty industry six years ago, I never imagined that I would fall in love with my career and all the opportunities that would lead me to where I am today.
In 2014, I decided to obtain a cosmetology license to help me pay off my nursing school tuition. As a single mom, I wanted to pursue a career that would give me financial stability in order to provide a comfortable life for my son. I considered cosmetology as a side hustle and utilized the money to fuel my career even though I wasn’t incredibly passionate about nursing.
One day, I decided to get my lashes done and fell in love with the ambiance, and more importantly, I couldn’t help but notice the confidence boost I had after receiving the service. This small feature had such a profound impact on my confidence that I wanted to be able to share this feeling with others. After the service, I searched for lash training and started off with extensions. I grew an interest in lash lifts but wasn’t able to find an independent artist that was willing to mentor me so I turned to the most prestigious lash lift companies and earned certification in all their courses.
With my certifications in hand, I realized that these courses were lackluster. The training was seminar-style and mentorship post-training was almost nonexistent. The models I had during the training were not an accurate representation of the clients I encountered after being certified. I needed guidance when encountering difficult cases, but had no one to turn to. When I first started The most challenging things for me were having both eyes lift consistently high. I’d always have one that had a weaker lift than the other! I also noticed that some areas of their lash line would either curl too much, just right, or not enough and I didn’t have anyone to help me troubleshoot. It was then that I realized that learning online or from companies that trained a high volume of students did not provide me with adequate knowledge to truly succeed in the industry. I felt that they were missing what is most crucial to students’ success and that is ongoing support.
As I started posting my work on Instagram, I was contacted by salon owners across the United States inquiring about training for their artists. In addition to being flooded with training inquiries, I not only reached my business goal of having 15 clients a month, but I was doing 15 lash lifts a day! I worked an insane amount of hours due to the high demand and seeing my business take off, I made another goal to share this wealth of knowledge and opportunity with other professionals.
Through years of updated training and extensive experience, performing over 5,000 lash lifts on an array of lash textures, eye shapes, lash growth directions, and unique circumstances, I made it a mission to revolutionize lash lift training and my struggles were the inspiration to curating a high-quality course that is coupled with lifelong mentor-ship.
The Mile Hi Lift™ was born.
Curated with the student success at its core, Its unique curriculum was designed to remove painstaking months if not years of trial and error that has personally cost me so much money, time, and energy to correct. This course alone is meant to jump-start your career as a lash lift artist. The Mile High Lift combines all the different but crucial steps in a lash lift that gives clients the most length possible while keeping the lift consistent throughout the eye. As goes with every training, a two-day course is not enough to solidify the application of the knowledge and technique reviewed during the course. I do not claim that my lash lift and brow lamination techniques are the right way or the best way because everyone has their personal preferences.
My promise is to always be readily available for you even after training because no matter how much information I give you or try to prepare you I know that you may be faced with a challenging set of eyes. I’ll always be there to walk you through because I wish I had that when I first started! As I mentioned before, Your success is the core of my class and I want you to not only obtain certification but succeed in your business.
I am forever grateful for the growth of my business and the happiness that it has brought me. I am able to pass on the knowledge to anyone who is passionate about helping others feel more beautiful.
